Lusting After {Pumpkin Creations}
It's less than 2 weeks till Halloween and I still haven't bought my pumpkin! It seems crazy to me because usually I'm the first one at the pumpkin patch knocking down the gate before they open. This year it's a little different though. I've been crazy busy with work and have barely found time to do the chores let alone carve my pumpkin. So in exchange I've been admiring everybody else's creations. There are so many amazing designs out there that when it does become time to carve mine, I don't know how I'll decide. For now, I've gathered a few of my favorite works of pumpkin art and a few links to some of my favorite stencils. Happy carving!

Lusting After {Pumpkin Patches}
With October just days away, I can finally start getting into the fall spirit. I know the start of the season was awhile ago, but it just never feels like it till October 1st. One of my favorite parts of fall is all things pumpkin. From pumpkin pie, to stuffed pumpkin, to the always fun, pumpkin decorating, I love pumpkins! Right now, I'm dreaming of a day spent in the pumpkin patch picking out the perfect one. Whether it be white, orange, or spotted, I want one is every size. Can you imagine a dinner beneath the fall sky served family style amongst all the pumpkins? It would be the most divine fall dinner party!
Have a great weekend!

Lusting After {Lounge Furniture}
Happy Friday dolls! Time to kick back, relax, and celebrate. Before I head out for the weekend, I want to throw out a new trend in events, lounge furniture. From oversized chairs to plush couches, this new craze has guests feeling right at home. Set up a series of areas where guests can rest their feet from dancing, sip a cocktail, and socialize with each other. It's more comfortable than a folding chair and infinitely more stylish. Whether you prefer vintage or modern, it doesn't matter. With event furniture rental companies popping up all over the country, no matter your style, you can get the perfect pieces to fit your theme!
Happy weekend!

Lusting After {Inspiration Boards}
Inspiration boards are the key to everything I do. Without them, I fear my thoughts would get lost in space somewhere replaced by the next thought that pops into my head. Since the birth of Pinterest, this has been the easiest way to make sure I don't lose anything and keep those creative juices flowing. However, there is something to be said about jumping out of the digital world and really finding the inspiration in the things that surround you everyday. Whether it be the texture of your latest fabric swatch or the color of the buds outside your door, I'm lusting after the idea of creating an inspiration board in my house. I'm imagining a huge patterned cork board hanging on the wall adorned with all the little things I find inspiring each day from the swatch I picked up at the fabric store for new pillows to the dried bouquet from my friends wedding. Now...if I only had the space for it!
What would be on your inspiration board?

Lusting After {Monograms}
Being from the South, I think it's pretty much a requirement. Even Reese Witherspoon said "If it's not moving, monogram it." I went through a little phase not wanting anything monogramed, but thankfully it's over. Nowadays, I can't wait to engrave those three letter on anything I can. From bouquet ribbons to sheets, from silverware and plates to Tervis tumblers and wine glasses, there is nothing that can't be monogramed. I'm imagining a whole event covered in monograms in subtle ways as to not look overdone. Start with the invitation, move to the cocktail napkins, throw it on a cornhole board, and finish it off with a thank you card on your favors. I can't think of a better way to decorate a southern soiree right now!

Lusting After {Succulents}
Forget the gorgeous huge buds, the latest trend, and my latest lust, is succulents. Whether in a small pot or tucked into a colorful bouquet, succulents add a green earthy element to the party. Plus, their easy care makes them the perfect plant for non-green thumbs like myself. I love the idea of grouping together different succulents in varying sized pots for a natural looking centerpiece. Want to use bright blooms in the middle of your tables? Incorporate individually planted ones in all the nooks and crannies of your venue.

Lusting After {Beer Boats}
Yes, that's right I said beer boat. There seems to be this new trend at events of skipping the bartender and opting to fill a boat with beer. And, I have to admit, I'm kind of obsessed with it. Who would have thought something as simple as filling a small boat or canoe with ice and loading it with beer and other bottled beverages could have such an impact. But, what's so genius about the idea is your ice is not going to leak everywhere. While I can't guarantee that it won't melt, at least the boat won't sweat. What's even better is that it's self serve. Guests won't have to wait in a long line every time they need a refill. Don't want to give guests free reign at all the beer? That's okay, you can keep the beer behind the bar and fill the boat with other drinks like bottled waters, sodas, or juices for the kids.

Lusting After {Wine Barrels}
Ever since R started brewing his own beer, I've been a little reluctant to let all of his brew stuff into the house. That was, until I started getting something out of the deal, like wine, and the possibility of wine on tap. Since this opportunity got laid on the table, I've been dreaming in Cabernet red and hoping to fill my life with vintage wine barrels. While I don't exactly have room for them, I wouldn't mind incorporating them into any event possible. Whether cut in half and used as small end tables, acting as the legs for your bar, or adorned with arrangements and serving as cocktail tables, I love how you are instantly transported to wine country just by looking at them. And who knows, maybe one day, I'll be able to fit a couple in my house. And maybe they'll even be filled with wine!

Lusting After {Food Trucks}
If you remember, I posted earlier in the week about food truck parties. I'm so enthralled with this phenomenon and just can't seem to get over how...cool...it is. So, yesterday, R and I ventured out to Tallahassee's own Food Truck Thursdays. Surprisingly, Tallahassee is up on the food truck trend and we couldn't be more thrilled. We took the food truck hub and sampled all that we could. Jumping from truck to truck, we tried everything from inventive grilled cheeses to pulled pork and Greek tacos. We finished off our foodie tour with a sampling of chocolate vodka and sangria cupcakes from Lucy & Leo's Cupcakery. While we didn't make it to each truck, the food possibilities are endless and there is no stop to our attendance any time in the near future. If I wasn't sold on food trucks catering every event before, I sure am now. That was quite possibly some of the best food I've ever had....

Lusting After {Pattern}
Some say solids are nice and a nice way to balance out over the top centerpieces and decor. Sadly, I must disagree. While solids do have their place in the linen world, I'm crazy about pattern right now. A bold tablecloth underneath a bouquet of gorgeous blooms is sure to make an eye catching statement. Stripes, polka dots, or plaid it doesn't matter. The key to using pattern and not making it look cheap is all the accents. A neutral patterned linen should be accented by bright centerpieces and vice versa. Stick to one pattern. If you love stripes then stick with that and don't add pops of plaid or swirls. Feeling like a print tablecloth is a little too bold for your event? Throw in a subtle pattern by using striped or floral linen napkins. It will still add that special touch without being the main focus of the table.

Lusting After {Pineapples}
Happy Friday babes! With a summertime feel finally upon us, I've been feeling the tropical spirit every morning. The sun shines just a little bit brighter, the sky is just a bit bluer, and everybody seems to be in just a little bit better mood. It's fabulous, right? With warm breezes and sandy beaches on the mind, I've been lusting after tropical details lately. Large flowers, Hawaiian prints, and bright colors call my name from across the room. But, the one detail that has me going crazy is pineapple! This sweet fruit not only tastes good but when left whole makes a great summer centerpiece. It reminds me of the islands and how fresh and fun everything is down there. The colors are also a fantastic soiree inspiration. Shades of golden yellow, green, and brown are reminiscent of a 1960s Palm Beach get together. But don't be fooled, this retro feel is totally modern as well!

Lusting After {Magazine Layouts}
Happy Friday dolls! Today I'm very excited to announce the beginning of something great, LPF Magazine, started by the lovely Lauren of La Petite Fashionista! It will be a wonderful combination of fashion, entertaining, decorating, DIYs and more. And, I am happy to be contributing with entertainment tips and beautiful soirees. We are predicting it will be the best lifestyle mag to date. But then again, we are a little biased. With an August 1st release date for the first issue, it's time to kick it in to high gear. Ever sense hearing the news from Lauren, I've been paying more attention to beautiful layouts and lusting after all the perfect designs. Taking the extra time to notice the layout and not just the content has made me realize it's all about a balance of filling the space while not making it too overwhelming. It's about the little details. The big picture is important but close up shot can make an even bigger impact.
Needless to say, it's becoming harder and harder to contain my excitement! I can't wait to share the first issue with all of you and celebrate this amazing fete with Lauren! Have a great weekend dolls!

Lusting After {Peonies}
Peonies steal my heart every time. This bright pink bloom is luscious and full of beauty, exactly what every flower should be. Ever since I saw the bud filling a castle garden in Ireland, I've dreamed of it filling my own house. This summer time flower is the perfect soft but bold accent to any soiree. Keep it monochromatic and full for a modern vibe or go with a single stem in a mercury glass bud vase for a vintage feel. With its multitude of shades, I love the idea of combining them in an ombre bouquet. Imagine varying shades of light and dark pink combined to form one masterful centerpiece. Whether it stands on its own or is mixed with complementing accent flowers, the bold and beautiful bloom is considered a must in my book! Now, if I could only find it in my area...

Lusting After {Anchors}
It's true. I'm a sucker for anything nautical. Well, I'm actually a sucker for a lot of things, but that's beside the point. Give me a navy and white stripe or a rope detailing and I can't say no. However, my newest nautical obsession is the anchor. I've been spotting this detail everywhere recently and I love its versatile vibe. Whether paired with other nautical details to create a "shore" fire fun soiree or simply used for symbolic meaning, I'm sold on anchor detailing for all most all types of events. Intrigue guests with an invitation suite laced with brightly colored anchors and sea creatures. Continue to add the detail in other subtle ways by incorporating anchor hooks and gifting guests small anchor details such as bracelets, koozies, or even anchor embroidered bow ties. Accompany the detailing with a cheesy, but cute meaningful saying such as "You anchor me and keep me from getting lost at sea" to tie it all together!
Enjoy your weekend and I'll see you right here first thing Monday morning! xo

Lusting After {Easter Brunch}
It's true. I'm lusting after this Sunday's Easter brunch. Full of bright blooms and yummy foods, I can't wait for Sunday at 2 o'clock. Not only is this festive meal a great time for family and friend to gather together and celebrate, but it is also the perfect introduction to a season full of outdoor soirees.
For the first big celebratory brunch of the season, embrace the day and decorate to the nines. Dyed egg should take center stage as centerpieces. Whether gathered together in a clear hurricane surrounded by green palm fronds or spaced intermittently between fresh blooming bud centerpieces, dyed eggs are a great way to add pops of color and pattern to your table. Complete the look with pastel tablecloths, coordinating patterned plates, and napkins with custom rings. Serve up mimosas, deviled eggs, and other tasty treats. Add the perfect ending to the day with a huge egg hunt for those of all ages!

Lusting After {Bicycles}
Happy Friday! I’m so glad today is finally here. I’m off
tomorrow for a couple much needed days at the beach full of sunshine and
relaxation. It's been a long week and I can't wait to park my car and travel everywhere by bike. No matter where I need to go, whenever I'm home, my bike seems to get me there. It's a symbol of the freedom, relaxation, and fun I feel being near the ocean, and I think it's the perfect laid back accent for any event. Use the bike as a welcome sign showing guests to the party or a statement piece by filling the basket with flowers. Better yet, pop the kickstand and construct and secure a table top to use the bike as a unique bar. Whichever way you accent it, it's a detail sure to surprise and impress guests!

Lusting After {Chalk Art}
Recently I've been seeing these beautifully designed chalk boards everywhere, most of them done by this amazing lady named Dana Tanamachi. Her flawless graphics with the usually messy medium have left me lusting after her amazing works and wishing I could do the same. Because trust me, if I could, I'm pretty sure my whole house would be covered in chalk board graphics. Think about it how amazing it would be if at the next get together you through has a beautifully designed chalk board welcoming guests or featuring the menu or drink specials. And because it is erasable, the possibilities are endless. With the right skill, it could be used for wedding announcements, invitations, birth announcements, or to mark any special occasion with a photo and a chalk description. I'm loving the idea. Now if I only had the talent of Dana! Maybe I'll learn...

Lusting After {Palm Fronds}
If you are blessed enough to live in, or be from, the Sunshine State, you can relate to my obsession with palm frond accents. Whether as decor for your home or soiree, their vibrant green hue brings a sense of the tropical outdoors in. Right now I'm lusting after the idea of removing the stem and using the frond as a placemat or charger. This inexpensive, chic table accent is just what my summer loving heart is craving. Another great option is to use them as a bold accent in an oversized vase. I know I've got one turquoise vintage rum carboy that is in need of the bright whisping leaves of a palm. If planning a tropical bash this summer, try using them as an oversized centerpiece on a few tables. It's bold, eye catching and something your guests are sure not to forget.
I could talk all day about the possibilities for these luscious beauties, but I believe I will just leave the rest up to your creative imagination. No matter indoors or out, palm fronds add the right amount of natural beauty, bright color, and island vibe!

Lusting After {Vintage Keys}
I was in an antique shop a couple of years ago and stumbled upon a big bucket full of hundreds of vintage keys. They were all sitting there like someone had just thrown them all away and I kept thinking there had to be something they could be used for. I bought a couple and made them into necklaces, but always wondered what other ways they could be repurposed. Recently it dawned on me that they would be a lovely vintage touch at a wedding. What's so perfect is they are so small and subtle, you could use them in 100 places and people wouldn't think you were having a key themed soiree. Tie them on escort cards, centerpieces, menu cards, and what ever else you can think of. You could even attach one to a key loop and make a vintage inspired key chain for your guests!
