Lusting After {Beer Boats}

Yes, that's right I said beer boat. There seems to be this new trend at events of skipping the bartender and opting to fill a boat with beer. And, I have to admit, I'm kind of obsessed with it. Who would have thought something as simple as filling a small boat or canoe with ice and loading it with beer and other bottled beverages could have such an impact. But, what's so genius about the idea is your ice is not going to leak everywhere. While I can't guarantee that it won't melt, at least the boat won't sweat. What's even better is that it's self serve. Guests won't have to wait in a long line every time they need a refill. Don't want to give guests free reign at all the beer? That's okay, you can keep the beer behind the bar and fill the boat with other drinks like bottled waters, sodas, or juices for the kids. 

This Party Inspired By...Bars

If you don't know by now, I love bars. I think it runs in the family. But I have this new obsession of turning everything into a bar. Seriously. I'm talking champagne bar, trail mix bar, cereal bar, hamburger bar, taco bar, s'mores bar. The list could go on forever. And better yet, I have this new plan for my very distant future wedding, a bar theme. It could very well happen. Forget the passed hor d'ourves, I want the cocktail hour to be fill with a mini bar. Ha! Seriously, there was no pun intended there. I want a bar of all things mini. Fix your own mini taco, or slider, or whatever. Then when mini bar hour commences, I would like a full bar spread with who even knows what! I'm completely convinced bars are the party food of the future! Tell me. Love the bar idea or hate it?

Delightful Dining {Hot Dog Bar}

Continuing with this week's dedication to carnivals (and my obsession with food served in a bar format), I bring to you a hot dog bar. Hello, what's more carnival than a hot dog. Personally, I've been craving hot dogs ever since we decided to do this! So we've rented a hot dog machine and this party is ready to rock! While we are not going as extreme as this picture with all of the toppings, I wish we could include it all! My dream hot dog would include chili, ketchup, and red peppers. But, what's best about this, is you could easily make some burger and brats too for those who don't like hot dogs. And if you include chili on your bar, people could just have just chili if they feel so inclined! 

What would your dream hot dog have on it? No limits! 

So Sweet {Cake Bar}

Okay so let's talk cake for a minute. I'm kind of obsessed with cake. And by kind of, I mean totally and utterly in love with cake. Once, freshman year, I ate half a cake by myself. On my roommates birthday. This actually happened twice. I ate another half a cake on my other roommates birthday. Thankfully my third roommate's birthday was over Christmas break. Otherwise, I may have gained the freshman 50. So anyways, given my obsession with cake and my obsession with bars, I have a new obsession with cake bars. It's kind of like a fat kids dream. Imagine a bar with different flavors of cake, different flavors and types of icings, fillings, toppings, infusions, etc. The list of the cake bar accouterments could possibly go on forever. Therefore, I will leave you with three words to remember. Cake. Bar. Deliciousness.
