Weekend Warriors {10.26.12}
Happy Friday y'all! We are finally getting a "cold" front this weekend and by Sunday, temps are expected to be in the 70s. That may seem like warm spring time weather to most, but down here it's just down right chilly. In honor of the fall like weather and holiday weekend, I've gathered a list of five activities and celebrations worthy of your free time this weekend. Here's what should be on your agenda!
1. Build a Bonfire: Nothing beats sitting outside in the the cold weather around a warm fire. Throw in a bag of marshmallows, some chocolate, and graham cracker halves and you've got the best Friday night party around!
2. Wear a Costume: Halloween is a few short days away and weekday celebrating is out of the question for me. If it is for you too, throw on your costume and host a spooky gathering.
3. Carve a Pumpkin: If you are anything like me, life has been too busy to even think about carving your pumpkin. I got mine Wednesday night and I'm excited to finally carve something especially scary (or cute!) into it this weekend. I also can't wait to roast the seeds and make a yummy fall snack!
4. Bake a Treat: Baking has to be one of my all time favorite fall activities. There is just something about a warm sweet treat on a cold evening that can't be beat. Try anything pumpkin, cinnamon, or apple flavored for the perfect fall indulgence.
5. Catch Up With Old Friends: It's been on my list of things to do for awhile now and I'm excited to follow through on it this weekend. With extra free time on Sunday, I plan on getting comfy on the couch and having a good chat.

Happy Friday y'all! I'm so excited it's finally Friday, and not just because it means a few days out of the office. Rob and I are off to Appalachicola this weekend for some much needed time away. While we will be relaxing eating our fair share of oysters, I'm still going to make some time to engage in a few fall spirited activities. Here's my list of things try this weekend!
1. Get Away: We are! Even if it's just for a day it's always nice to get away from reality and explore a new community. I love Appalachicola because it's a short drive from home and right on the water. The oysters are to die for and the town couldn't be cuter!
2. Take Pictures: I was inspired reading a post by Lauren at La Petite Fashionista this week on Project Life. My camera can be a bit bulky to carry around and take quick snap shots but my phone is perfect! After reading her post, I have vowed to myself to start taking more pictures and remembering the little things each week instead of just capturing the big celebrations!
3. Make Apple Cider: The temperatures are finally cool enough for me to break out the apple cider recipe and bourbon. Apple cider is the perfect fall treat in my mind. When paired with a delectable pastry, you simply can't go wrong!
4. Create Halloween Decor: I can't wait till we get back in town on Sunday to start making all of our Halloween decorations! I'm thinking ghosts for the front yard and a black rose wreath for the front door.
5. Wear Boots: Time to pack away those summer clothes and break out the fall boots and sweaters. I'm dreaming of comfy cozy tribal print cardigans and tall riding boots paired with my favorite pair of leggings.
Have a great weekend!

It's finally Friday! After going through all of yesterday thinking it was Friday, I can't explain how happy I am that it's actually here. Now that I have a couple days to relax, I've been thinking about how I'm going to enjoy them. With so many options, it was hard to narrow down the list. After careful consideration, I finally found the five things to-do that are going to make this weekend spectacular! Here's five things to-do and celebrate this weekend!
1. Tour a Brewery: Craft beers are taking over and home brewing is becoming a huge trend. We are for sure participating in the trend. Well, I more or less watch while Rob brews, but it's like the same thing. However, the art of craft beers and the quality they produce is amazing. I wish we had a closer brewery because this weekend we would be belly up to the tasting bar after our tour for sure!
2. Relax: We all need to do it. Sometimes weekends get bogged down by all the chores and errands that have built up throughout the week. This weekend, I'm throwing it out the window and doing what I love most, relaxing...and crafting.
3. Bake a Pie: Fall = Pie. It's true. Apple pie, strawberry pie, blueberry pie, it doesn't matter to me. I've been craving flaky crusts and sweet fillings. Oh, and this time, I'm making it all from scratch.
4. Visit the Farmer's Market: Nothing beats fresh produce. We've been so busy I've missed it the past couple weeks, but I can't wait to finally get back tomorrow and gather up all the homegrown goodies.
5. Host a Get Together: It's always easier to be the guest than the host, but it's so much more rewarding when you are the hostess with the mostess. Whether it be a tailgate, watching party, or bon fire, aim to be the best Martha Stewart you can be!
What do you have planned for the weekend?

Woohoo! We made it through another week. I don't know about you, but this week has been very busy and seems to have lasted a lifetime. I'm glad to have a couple days to decompress and have some fun. I've got family time, brunch, football and more on the schedule and I've centered this week's weekend warriors around just that. While I anxiously await for the weekend's festivities to begin, here's the rundown of what to do this weekend!
1. Do Brunch: I must admit it is my favorite meal. This weekend though I'm moving it from Sunday to Saturday by making mimosas, mini chicken biscuits, and doughnut hole skewers to tailgate for FSU's noon kickoff.
2. Spend Time with Family: I'm excited for my sister, dad, and uncle to join us in Tallahassee this weekend for the game. It's been awhile since we've all seen each other and I know good times are in store.
3. Throw a Football: You may not be a big sports fan, but I have to say there is something rather refreshing about getting outside and throwing around the ball before cheering your team to victory.
4. Make Your Party Decor: Sometimes it can be difficult to find just what you are looking for when it comes to decorating your gathering. I challenge you this weekend to try and make some of the special touches yourself. This way you can customize the colors and style to your soiree. Need inspiration? Check out our Pinterest page full of great ideas!
5. Laugh: They say laughter is key in staying young and living longer. After a long week, it's always at the top of my list. It helps me relax and remember that life is just one big party!

Happy Friday y'all! I know it was a short work week, but I'm glad the weekend is here again. During the fall, my weekends are filled with tailgating, bonfires, and many celebrations. This weekend is no different. While it's still a bit too hot for a roaring fire we will be tailgating and celebrating some birthdays. Here's my list of to-dos this weekend!
1. Feel the Spirit: Cheer on your team this weekend in style. Spread the team spirit by sporting your teams colors from head to toe. Bring a grill, a cornhole set, and plenty of grub to tailgate all day and get ready to cheer your team to victory.
2. Celebrate: Whether it be a birthday, anniversary, promotion at work, or a day off, throw a celebration this weekend. There doesn't need to be a special occasion to bust out the balloons, confetti, and cake. If you ask me, a Saturday is plenty reason enough!
3. Be Fashionable: New York Fashion Week is in full swing. I know I will be taking some time to watch the shows online. So much of my event inspiration comes straight from the runway and I can't wait to see what's hot for spring!
4. Open a Book: With the holiday weekend behind us, I finally have some time this weekend to dive into Sloan Crosley's "How'd You Get This Number?" It's been on iPad waiting to be read for months now! What are you reading right now?
5. Plant a Garden: Now the weather is beginning cool, it's time to plant some new buds on the back deck that can stand up to the cooler temps and less sunlight. I'm sad that my snapdragons are gone but I'm excited for the new blooms to come!
Have a great weekend!

Weekend Warriors
Happy Friday! We made it through another week and it's time to celebrate any little accomplishment. Today, I am unveiling a new series called "Weekend Warriors" featuring five things celebrate or try this weekend. I want to start it off with five things I love to do every weekend. Here goes the list!
1. Spend Time Outside: If you are like me, you spend way more time than you would like inside. I constantly find myself looking out the window longing to be soaking up the sun. My challenge to you this weekend is to take some time and enjoy the beautiful weather. Summer is quickly coming to an end so take it all in while you can!
2. Get Crafty: For me, it's a creative outlet. I like to find something I love online and try and recreate it myself. This weekend, I'll be making this great cherry blossom cake stand that I'll share with you next week!
3. Make a Fabulous Meal: Whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert, be creative with what you make. During the week it's all about being quick and healthy. Weekends are a perfect time to try out that daunting but delicious looking recipe you've been eyeing for months or maybe make a four course meal.
4. Grab a Cocktail: It doesn't matter if you are out on the town with a big group of friends or relaxing at home with a more intimate crowd, take some time to spend with the people that make you laugh. They say laughing helps you to relax and I couldn't agree more!
5. Sleep In: It seems so simple, but often times I find myself working so much during the week that weekends are left for that lengthy to-do list of chores and errands that I wake up early to accomplish. Sometimes, I like to throw it out the window and do just what I want, catch up on sleep!
Hope you enjoy the new series and maybe even try out a couple of these things this weekend!

Weekend Warriors {Raleigh Wedding}
Hi lovelies! I'm back from a fabulous weekend in Raleigh celebrating the marriage of one of my best friends. I've never been to the City of Oaks, but after a couple days of exploring I'm in love with this southern city's laid back vibe. I wanted to share a few images from this weekend's festivities including a trip to Natty Greene's Brewery and a nautical themed night on the town. Hope you guys enjoy!
