Happy New Year's Eve! I'm excited to ring in the new year tonight indulging in a homemade meal and a bit to much champagne at home. You won't find today's post here (although the picture is a bit of a teaser) because it's a guest post for La Petite Fashionista! Head over to Lauren's site to check out my chic DIY glittery party hats and get the recipe for the popping pink champagne cocktail I'll be sipping on tonight!
Have a safe and happy New Year tonight! How will you be celebrating?

Party DIY {Cake Bunting}
As I mentioned yesterday, we spent the weekend celebrating Rob's 25th birthday. It was filed with plenty of relaxing and of course plenty of cookie cake, his favorite. Being the cookie cake connoisseur he is, there were some specific requirements. It had to be homemade, thick, and free from icing. Free from icing? I know its crazy but that's the way he wanted it. That left me having to come up with a creative way to spell out "Happy Birthday" on top. The solution, three string bunting spelling out the message. I was super pleased with how it turned out so decided to share the how to with you here. Please excuse the instagram, but this is what happens when I'm presently surprised and my camera is out of batteries.
:: Supplies ::
2 Pieces of Colored Card Stock
Scissors
Silver sharpie
Double Sided Tape
String
2 Wooden Dowels
Curling ribbon
:: Directions ::
1. Begin by creating a small triangle stencil.
2. Trace and cutout enough triangles to spell out your message alternating colors for each letter.
3. Using your silver Sharpie, write out your message alternating colors for each letter. Using double sided tape, attach the letters of the first word to the string. Tie the string between the two dowels. Repeate for the reaming words in your message.
4. Tie two pies of curling ribbon to the top of each dowel and curl.
5. Stick in the top of the cookie cake and serve.

Party DIY {Itsy Bitsy Spider}
Halloween is a mere week away and it's time to put the finishing touches on all those Halloween parties. While the scary details like ghosts popping out of dark hallways and spooky black punch are a given, it's time to concentrate on the little details that will make guests say wow! For this DIY I wanted something spooky in spirit with a handmade touch that didn't break the bank. This did just that. The rubber spiders I found in an 8 pack at Wal-Mart for $1.47. The rest of the supplies I had on hand in my craft bucket. After cutting some kraft paper down to size (3x2), I was off drawing spiderwebs in the corner and hot gluing spiders to them. These are great because they can be used in so many ways for your party. Try them as labels for food, place cards, or drink tags. Here's the step by step on making them for your party!
:: Supplies ::
Rubber Spiders
Hot Glue
3"x 2" Kraft Paper Pieces
Black Sharpie
:: Directions ::
1. Begin by drawing a line out of the center of the top left corner. Draw another line from the corner splitting the difference between the middle line and the edge of the paper. Repeat on the other side of the middle line. Draw a few more for a full looking web.
2. Starting near the corner, connect the lines with a slightly upward curved line that peaks at each line. Continue down the web forming rows.
3. Place a dab of hot clue on the back of the spider and adhere to paper.
4. Write each person's name or food item in the bottom right corner.
Have a great Tuesday!

Party DIY {Halloween Decor Redo}
Half way through another week and it's time again for you all to pick which spooky Halloween decor you want me to remake this weekend! I know yesterday I said that decorating was on hold for another week or so, but a girl can't help but plan right? I can't decide between this scary ghost for the front yard, haunting black rose wreath for the front door, or chalk board pumpkins for around the house. Let me know which is your favorite and I'll give you the step by step next week!

Weekend Warriors {9.14.12}
Woohoo! We made it through another week. I don't know about you, but this week has been very busy and seems to have lasted a lifetime. I'm glad to have a couple days to decompress and have some fun. I've got family time, brunch, football and more on the schedule and I've centered this week's weekend warriors around just that. While I anxiously await for the weekend's festivities to begin, here's the rundown of what to do this weekend!
1. Do Brunch: I must admit it is my favorite meal. This weekend though I'm moving it from Sunday to Saturday by making mimosas, mini chicken biscuits, and doughnut hole skewers to tailgate for FSU's noon kickoff.
2. Spend Time with Family: I'm excited for my sister, dad, and uncle to join us in Tallahassee this weekend for the game. It's been awhile since we've all seen each other and I know good times are in store.
3. Throw a Football: You may not be a big sports fan, but I have to say there is something rather refreshing about getting outside and throwing around the ball before cheering your team to victory.
4. Make Your Party Decor: Sometimes it can be difficult to find just what you are looking for when it comes to decorating your gathering. I challenge you this weekend to try and make some of the special touches yourself. This way you can customize the colors and style to your soiree. Need inspiration? Check out our Pinterest page full of great ideas!
5. Laugh: They say laughter is key in staying young and living longer. After a long week, it's always at the top of my list. It helps me relax and remember that life is just one big party!
