Weekend Warriors {9.14.12}
Woohoo! We made it through another week. I don't know about you, but this week has been very busy and seems to have lasted a lifetime. I'm glad to have a couple days to decompress and have some fun. I've got family time, brunch, football and more on the schedule and I've centered this week's weekend warriors around just that. While I anxiously await for the weekend's festivities to begin, here's the rundown of what to do this weekend!
1. Do Brunch: I must admit it is my favorite meal. This weekend though I'm moving it from Sunday to Saturday by making mimosas, mini chicken biscuits, and doughnut hole skewers to tailgate for FSU's noon kickoff.
2. Spend Time with Family: I'm excited for my sister, dad, and uncle to join us in Tallahassee this weekend for the game. It's been awhile since we've all seen each other and I know good times are in store.
3. Throw a Football: You may not be a big sports fan, but I have to say there is something rather refreshing about getting outside and throwing around the ball before cheering your team to victory.
4. Make Your Party Decor: Sometimes it can be difficult to find just what you are looking for when it comes to decorating your gathering. I challenge you this weekend to try and make some of the special touches yourself. This way you can customize the colors and style to your soiree. Need inspiration? Check out our Pinterest page full of great ideas!
5. Laugh: They say laughter is key in staying young and living longer. After a long week, it's always at the top of my list. It helps me relax and remember that life is just one big party!

Kick It Off
Hello! How was everyone's Labor Day? We had the best time hanging out, drinking beer, and eating up goodies from the photo shoot. I can't wait to share it all with you when the next issue comes out. But, for right now, let's take a look into issue 1. With the help of Jocelyn from Saucy Jocey's Kitchen, we threw a fabulous tailgate sure to make the other team jealous! With handmade goal posts, spirited decor, and great food, it was definitely the best tailgate I'd ever been to. Now that it's officially fall and football season is upon us once again, I wanted to share and hope that it gives you the inspiration your looking for to throw the season's greatest tailgate.
Have a great Tuesday!

Let's Coast
The Super Bowl is quickly approaching (It's Sunday in case you didn't know.) and it's time to start finalizing all your plans. While I'm not quite sure of our plans yet, I'm sure there will be lots of people around. Always looking for an excuse to throw a party and decorate, I'm planning tons of food and lots of football inspired decor, like these coasters. Made from astroturf found at Home Depot, it's like have a piece of the field with you no matter where you are watching the game. They are simple (and cheap!) to make and will surely impress your guests. All you need is a yard of turf from your local hardware store (My local Ace and Lowes didn't carry it, but Home Depot did.) and a pair of scissors. Cut the turf into 4x4 squares, trim the edges to look neat, and you are good to go. There will be a couple different types, but be sure to get one with a nice tight weave so that you don't see the backing from the top.
What football themed touches will you have at your Super Bowl party?

A Little Friday Lovin' {Florida State}
Keep calm. Football season is near. It's true. It's tomorrow! And I can hardly contain my excitement. With a top 10 ranking, I'm really feeling like this is our year! Then again, I think I say that every year. Anyways, I know this week's Friday Lovin' is a little different than usual, but it's right on track with what I'm loving right now. As the season kicks off tomorrow, I will be right there cheering on my Noles decked in garnet and gold! What are you lovin' this Friday?
Have a safe and fun holiday weekend! xo

This Party Inspired by {Football}
See, I told you I was dedicating this whole week to football. Because even if you don't enjoy it, I'm sure someone in your life does, and sometimes it's important to throw them a party they enjoy too! And while there are always the necessities needed for a tailgate (which I will gladly go over later, if you stop back by tomorrow) why not make these necessities all look like footballs. I mean that is the reason you are all standing outside in the heat, sweating profusely, while (hopefully) drinking a cold beer. My personal favorite "football" idea are these mini meatball sandwiches in the corner. I mean talk about dedication placing 4 strands of cheese in place to look like laces then properly melting them so they don't loose shape! Genius, not to mention delicious. Other fabulous football ideas, football whoopie pies, football hot dogs, football pizza, or maybe even football cookies. What favorite tailgate food would you make look just like a football?
Happy Tailgating!

This Week I Feel...Athletic
Being from the South it's kinda a thing. You don't mess with football season. You can't even think about planning something on a Saturday that does not involve beer and watching football. Well in honor of the first week of college football, (Woo! Go Noles!) prepare yourself for an entire weeks worth of football related posts, starting with today. While I have never played football (for obvious reasons of course), I do fell slightly more athletic watch the players run down the field and tackle. And oddly enough, just by the amount of football I have watched in my day, I feel I could play much better than any of those stupid people out there on the field that for some reason can't see the guy coming from behind to tackle him (I mean do these guys not have eyes in the back of their heads like my mother always did?). So brace yourself, because football season is upon us, and even if it isn't as hard core in your house as it is in mine, get ready for the fun and excitement that is college football!
