Weekend Warriors {9.7.12}

Happy Friday y'all! I know it was a short work week, but I'm glad the weekend is here again. During the fall, my weekends are filled with tailgating, bonfires, and many celebrations. This weekend is no different. While it's still a bit too hot for a roaring fire we will be tailgating and celebrating some birthdays. Here's my list of to-dos this weekend!

1. Feel the Spirit: Cheer on your team this weekend in style. Spread the team spirit by sporting your teams colors from head to toe. Bring a grill, a cornhole set, and plenty of grub to tailgate all day and get ready to cheer your team to victory.

2. Celebrate: Whether it be a birthday, anniversary, promotion at work, or a day off, throw a celebration this weekend. There doesn't need to be a special occasion to bust out the balloons, confetti, and cake. If you ask me, a Saturday is plenty reason enough!

3. Be Fashionable: New York Fashion Week is in full swing. I know I will be taking some time to watch the shows online. So much of my event inspiration comes straight from the runway and I can't wait to see what's hot for spring!

4. Open a Book: With the holiday weekend behind us, I finally have some time this weekend to dive into Sloan Crosley's "How'd You Get This Number?" It's been on iPad waiting to be read for months now! What are you reading right now?

5. Plant a Garden: Now the weather is beginning cool, it's time to plant some new buds on the back deck that can stand up to the cooler temps and less sunlight. I'm sad that my snapdragons are gone but I'm excited for the new blooms to come!

Have a great weekend!

This Week I Feel...Smart

This week I am feeling just a bit smarter. Why? Well, because after a VERY long summer of nothing but studying, R has taken his first preliminary test. And while there is still one more to go, I'm confident we (Yes, I do refer to the test as though we are both taking it.) will pass both. Back story, these tests are supposed to be so difficult that almost no one passes the first try. So, while I'm sure the last thing he wants to look at in a "Congratulations You Passed Prelims" party is a book (He'd rather be looking at a cooler full of beer, I'm sure.), I may just have to fill the room with books. I feel it's only appropriate. Plus how cute would it be to have library cards as the invites or stacks of books as table decor?
