Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving dolls! I can't believe it's already that time. The last year has surely flown by and I am thankful for so much that has happened. While we are all giving in to our cravings and eating more than our fair share, I wanted to remind you that sometimes it's not about the party but about the people who share in the celebration with you. Remember to give thanks for all the blessings in your life and don't take for granite the wonderful people that embrace you everyday. After all, that is what today is all about. So, whether you are spending it surrounded by those you love most or simply thinking of them on this wonderful day, remember that we each have so much to be thankful for and we shouldn't focus on the bad but the good in our lives. I hope you have a wonderfully relaxing day and remember to give thanks for that which is most important to you!

Love is All You Need

Happy Valentine's Day my loves! Do you all have fabulous plans for tonight? I sure hope so! R and I have decided to do what we do every year. We're hulling up inside with a nice bottle of wine and avoiding the crowds as much as possible. And, with steak and fish on the menu, there really is no need to leave the house. R and I have always agreed on the face that you should show the one you love how much you care every day of the year, not just on Valentine's Day. And, while we do everything we can to make sure the other knows how special they are throughout the year, it's still nice to do a little nice gesture for the other. For example, today I'm promising R I won't bust out my phone, or computer, or iPad to monitor whatever form of social media it may be all night. Trust, me as a social media junkie, it's going to be hard, but for him I'm willing to do it. It's the little things like showing R that he's more important to me than browsing social media that make the day special.

Whatever your plans, be sure to show those around you how much you care! xo

Color Me {Shades of Love}

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and it's no surprise that love has started to fill the air. Everywhere I go shade of pink and red seem to pop above all the rest. I remember Valentine's Day parties in school filled with hearts and candied treats for all. At the time it seemed so silly, yet still fun. But, as I get older, I can't help but want to return to the days when hearts galore filled the room and there were more sweet treats than I could eat. So, this Valentine's day, embrace the love. Fill your house with heart balloons and tissue paper cut outs. String the word "love" across the mantel and wear the shades of love from head to toe. It will be like your own little Valentine's party. Oh, and don't forget to show the one you love how much you care!

How are you celebrating Valentine's Day this year?

Be Mine

Will you be mine? Oh good! I was hoping you would say yes! Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and I'm finding myself remembering the days in school when everybody would bring in a sweet treat for the class and each person would have a box full of lovely little messages. Admittedly, I've never been a big fan of the day, avoiding restaurants like the plague and opting to stay in with a nice bottle of wine instead. However, while I try to show R how much he means to me everyday, it's nice to give him a little extra reminder every Valentine's Day with homemade treats and a sweet message. Instead of buying a card this year, I decided to get a little crafty and take the time to make a valentine. Playing off the heart I cut out, I punched out the words "My Heart Belongs to You" with my new (and super cool) Martha Stewart letter presser. It's simple and sweet, just like I feel the day should be.

Whether you are giving valentines to 1 or 100, show them how much you really care with a handmade note!

All Wrapped Up {Burlap Wine Bags}

Now that Halloween has passed, it's time to finally start thinking about my favorite holiday, Christmas. I know technically the Christmas season doesn't really start till after Thanksgiving, but it's never to early to start planning. And one of the things I always start thinking about first is Christmas gifts. What do I get for my parents, my sisters, my brother, etc.? Well, for friends one of my favorite things to do is a nice bottle of wine. But, you can't just hand someone a bottle, just like every other gift, it should be wrapped! And this Christmas, I'm loving the idea of wrapping bottles in burlap sacks like these. What's great is they add a little hand made touch that shows the person you put a little effort in. Stencil them with all sorts of sayings for the season like love, joy, or peace. I think I'm going to stencil mine with "uncork". Appropriate for the type of gift and that way it can be reused all year and not just at Christmas!

This Party Inspired By {Love}

It's what every party should be inspired by right? Especially such a party like a wedding. While, admittedly I've never been fond of "lovey" details such as hearts or abundantly using the word love, they are starting to grow on me. I'm obsession over how fabulous and simple that cake is. The pop of love just catches my eye.  My other obsession, those steps. I mean how cute would it be to see the bride and groom walking up with that saying behind them? Let's be frank. I'm kind of obsession over each of these images from the scrabble letters to having guests write love notes. Who knows, maybe I'll become a love convert after all. Maybe. How would you incorporate love into your big day?
