Color Me {Pure White}

There is something so pure and beautiful about the color white. With it's symbolization of starting a new and fresh, it's appropriate for so many occasions. Whether it be a baby shower, wedding, or the start of a new year, it's crisp clean feel works so well as an accent or center focus. I love to use it as my main color and accent with soft shades of blues and silver. The combination is like a breath of fresh air that can be used all year long. Yes, it may get dirty quicker, but when kept clean, you can't go wrong. White is just one of those colors with timeless universal appeal perfect for whatever you may need. If it was up to me, I would use it as my primary focus for everything!

The Happiest Hour {White Grape Peach Mango Spritzer}

During the hottest time of the year, I love coming up with great new cocktail creations to help keep cool. And admittedly, my favorite way to do this is to walk down the juice aisle at the grocery store, see what interesting flavors they have and mix it with whatever I can find at the house. Well, this past weekend on the hunt for a new juice mixer, I stumbled upon a sweet little treat called White Grape Peach Mango. Sold! Never had I seen such and interesting combination of flavors and I was immediately intrigued to try. I was a little weary that this flavorful sounding juice would be too sweet and not enjoyable to drink. However, I was quite surprised by the lightness of it. The flavors were just subtle enough so that you could taste them, but weren't over powering at all. It was perfect in my opinion. Thrown together with lime juice, vodka, and club soda, I do believe this is one of my new favorite summer cocktails! Here's the recipe...

:: Ingredients (Makes 2 cocktails) ::
4 parts White Grape Peach Mango Juice
4 parts Vodka
Juice of 1 lime
Lime Slices
Club Soda
Ice

:: Directions ::
1. In a shaker, combine juice, vodka, lime juice and ice. Shake
2. Fill two stemless wine glasses with ice, and pour till half full with club soda.
3. Top each glass with vodka mixture. Garnish with lime slices.

Color Me {Citrus}

Nothing beats the refreshing taste of homegrown citrus on a hot summer day. But, what's even more refreshing is the amazing color palette created by combining my favorite citrus fruits. When brought together, the bright shades of lime, lemon, orange, and grapefruit are eye catching and beautifully stunning. While the shade combination can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't a color aficionado, it's best to introduce the shades in subtle ways. Whether as a centerpiece, as your dinnerware, or as your food, these stunning citrus hues are bound to impress. If you are feeling bold, use any of these citrus shades as a main element at your soiree. You will be sure to turn heads wearing one of these colors and your tables will be the center of attention draped in citrusy orange, yellow, lime, or grapefruit. Whichever way you decide to use it, its a head turning refreshing color combo bound to make the perfect impact. 

Color Me: Raspberry

Happy Monday! How is everyone doing with the time change? I must admit I'm still a little tired. That's okay though because in my book it's officially spring! One of my favorite flavors and colors for spring is raspberry. The light, refreshing taste and vibrant hue are a wonderful welcome from the dull heaviness of winter. Pair the shade with light sky blue to allow it's vibrancy to really pop. Imagine rich raspberry florals atop a printed sky blue linen. Can you imagine the gorgeousness? Intensify the color by treating guests with raspberry flavored treats. Raspberry macaroon with a lemon filling is a light and refreshing dessert perfect for the season. Serve up champagne topped with a little fresh raspberry puree and a raspberry garnish and your guests will be screaming of spring as much as you and your soiree!

Indulge In {Grapefruit Margaritas}

There are very few things I love more than margaritas. I'm constantly on the hunt for a new margarita recipe to try. Whether it be savory, sweet, salt or no salt, there isn't a margarita I haven't liked. So, when I stumbled upon this recipe for grapefruit margaritas, I knew I had to try it immediately! Unlike the traditional margarita, this one is not quite as sweet but possibly even more delicious. With it's subtle flavor, this refreshing drink is perfect for hot summer day relaxing on a beach or by the pool. Heck, it's even great for relaxing on a Friday night! Here's the recipe...

:: Ingredients ::

1 cup fresh grapefruit juice

1/2 cup fresh lime juice (approximately 4 limes)

1/2 Triple Sec

1 cup Tequila

Ice

:: Directions ::

Mix all ingredients together, shake, serve, and enjoy!

With Daylight Savings Time right around the corner (It's this Sunday!), it means spring and summer are soon to follow. And, the warmer temperatures can only mean lots of spring flings and summer soirees. Being from the south, only one thing screams of hot summer days more than running through the sprinklers, and that's ice cold lemonade! Planning a bash on a hot, southern afternoon? Greet guests with a bottle of San Pelligrino Limonata adorned with their table assignment and a floating striped straw.  It's summer chic and refreshing. How can you go wrong? If you want to spice it up just a little, pour out a little of the lemonade and add a shot of vodka to start the party early!
