All Wrapped Up {Ribbon Ties}

I've said it before and I'll say it again, nothing beats a beautifully wrapped gift! When it comes to wrapping, in my opinion, simple and beautiful is better than ornate. Frankly, you invest so much time into making sure a gift is wrapped perfectly when a lovely wrapped gift is just a few seconds away. I'm obsessed right now with plain kraft boxes topped with fun and interesting fabric ties.

Buy some scraps of fancy fabrics from your local craft store and cut them into long strips. By doing this you have created your own yards of ribbon. It's rough on the edges but gives the perfect homemade touch to any gift. It allows for unique, eye catching wrapping in a bind that is sure to impress!

All Wrapped Up {Glistening Gift Tag}

A couple of weeks ago, I showed you a chic little wrapping with a lovely paper peony on top. Well, today I'm showing you a matching gift tag. Gift tags seem to be so seldom used these days. But, here's what I love about gift tags. They are easy to keep on hand and use in a flash. With a few simple touches, a white gift tag can go from boring to fab. I love using them when I forget to get a card for a gift but still want to include a personal message. For this gift tag, I wanted something a little flashy and fun. Glitter was the perfect touch it needed. First things first. Grab a pen and write your message. You will find it is much easier to do this before glittering. Next, pour some silver glitter out onto a paper plate or a sheet of paper. Take your hot glue gun and cover the bottom fourth of the tag, immediately putting in the glitter before the glue dries. To add a little extra touch, I glued a left over silver washer from a project a few weeks ago at the top by the string hole. Lastly, put the string through and tie to your package! 

All Wrapped Up {Pink and Peonies}

I've always believed that the way a gift is wrapped shows the person how much you care. It sounds strange, but if you through a gift into a gift bag, it seems a little last minute and rushed. However, if you take the time to wrap a gift and adorn it with a bow, it shows time, effort and consideration. But, if you are anything like me, you and wrapping paper just don't quite seem to get along. So, when it came to wrapping a gift for a friend's birthday, I resorted to some basic materials that I turned into a cute little wrapping! 

Thankfully, when I asked the store for a box, it was this lovely metallic silver, which provided the perfect starting layer. To top it off I used some hot pink twine I found at Lowe's (yes, the hardware store!) and a few sheets of white tissue paper. I started by wrapping the pink twine around the box creating a "ribbon" about an inch wide, then wrapping it again perpendicular to the first "ribbon". Adorn the top with a dainty tissue paper flower and it will be chicest gift you give all year!

Saturday morning I woke up, had an energizing cup of coffee, made a list, and headed out on one big adventure to get all of my Christmas shopping done. I was determined this year not to be one of those people in hitting the mall on Christmas Eve as I was last year. Minus a couple gifts I have to wait to get when I head home next week, it all got done! But, after all the shopping, those gifts weren't going to wrap themselves. So I embarked on my next journey...wrapping. I've always liked to use the same wrapping, but this year I took it to the next level, mixing patterns and matching the paper to my tree. I loved the idea of finding all the same color paper and mixing two patterns to add a little visual interest. I topped each gift off with a wrapping of silver cord as opposed to the traditional bow to tie in the silver on my tree. 

My absolute favorite part though is how my wrapping and tree match! Thank you Target for providing such fun wrapping and then having ornaments that match two aisles over. That makes this girl very happy!

All Wrapped Up {Burlap Wine Bags}

Now that Halloween has passed, it's time to finally start thinking about my favorite holiday, Christmas. I know technically the Christmas season doesn't really start till after Thanksgiving, but it's never to early to start planning. And one of the things I always start thinking about first is Christmas gifts. What do I get for my parents, my sisters, my brother, etc.? Well, for friends one of my favorite things to do is a nice bottle of wine. But, you can't just hand someone a bottle, just like every other gift, it should be wrapped! And this Christmas, I'm loving the idea of wrapping bottles in burlap sacks like these. What's great is they add a little hand made touch that shows the person you put a little effort in. Stencil them with all sorts of sayings for the season like love, joy, or peace. I think I'm going to stencil mine with "uncork". Appropriate for the type of gift and that way it can be reused all year and not just at Christmas!

All Wrapped Up

Hi, my name is Sarah and I love Divine Twine. I kind of think it's amazing. It's such a fun way to tie things up, packages, bags, envelops, gift tags, etc. I think you can use it for anything! If I actually had time to bake like I want to, I would totally tie up loaves of bread in parchment paper and divine twine.

 Plus it comes in so many colors that you could always match it to your wrapping. I just bought 50 yards or so in red to use for a carnival party and I'm kind of hoping I don't need it all so I can keep it to myself.

Plus they have in multi colors for holidays. Like this orange and black twine for Halloween! I'm totally wrapping this around the candy I'm handing out just for added flair because I can!

All Wrapped Up

So, I've decided I'm a little over traditional wrapping paper with a bow on top. I mean the wrapping is kind of like a preview to what's in the box. My new theory on wrapping is that you should be dying to rip that package open because the outside is just so pretty that what's on the inside has to be even better!  And I'm loving this idea of using a swatch of decorative fabric, a cloth napkin, or maybe even a table cloth if it's a big box and tying it in a knot at the top. And the best part about it, no scissors or tape! You know that is the worst part too. All I have to say is that this is adorable!
