Welcome to the Party

It's time to get down with a little gift giving to your guests. Usually they are the ones showering you with gifts, but maybe every get together should start (or end) with a little thank you for attending. Whether it be a dinner party or a weekend full of celebration, thank guests for taking time out of their busy schedules and supporting you. While a simple dinner party only requires an embroidered dish towel and some nice hand soap, my favorite gift to give to guests is the welcome basket for a weekend soiree. Surprise out of town guests at their hotel with a basket full of essentials to make them feel at home and ensure a few days of comfortable fun. Some of my favorite items to pile in the basket (or bag) is a bottle of room spray in your favorite scent, luscious lotions, a bottle of wine with a couple glasses, a map of the area with a list of things to do in spare time, and a pair of fuzzy slippers.

What would you want to see in a welcome basket?

All Wrapped Up {Ribbon Ties}

I've said it before and I'll say it again, nothing beats a beautifully wrapped gift! When it comes to wrapping, in my opinion, simple and beautiful is better than ornate. Frankly, you invest so much time into making sure a gift is wrapped perfectly when a lovely wrapped gift is just a few seconds away. I'm obsessed right now with plain kraft boxes topped with fun and interesting fabric ties.

Buy some scraps of fancy fabrics from your local craft store and cut them into long strips. By doing this you have created your own yards of ribbon. It's rough on the edges but gives the perfect homemade touch to any gift. It allows for unique, eye catching wrapping in a bind that is sure to impress!

The Perfect Gift {The Traveler}

Another day, another gift guide. But this one I must say is one of my favorites all about the perfect gift for the explorer. Travel can be difficult. There are so many things to remember in order to be comfortable while on your adventure. You have to consider what you will need to leave the country, to be comfortable during your stay, and of course what you'll need in order to remember the amazing trip you are on. But, no worries, I've laid it all out for you in today. Here are my top travel gift picks!

{1} Journal: A picture is worth a thousand words, yes. But a picture can't capture the same emotion of the moment, taste of the food, or names of the people you meet like a journal can. It's a must keep in my travel bag to record all of the funny happenings, sayings, places I would recommend to others, and memories of my adventure. A true must for any traveler.

{2} Lug Life Pillow Blanket Set: This 2-in-1 pillow blanket set is a necessity. Planes can be cold, and the pillows are never comfortable. Since lugging the large pillow from your bed is not always an option, this is perfect for sleeping on long flights or on airport floors in case of delayed travel.

{3} Alternative Duffle: A duffle is a great bag to travel with. It's typically the perfect size if you decide to carry your bag on and durable enough to be checked. My little travel secret is that I always fold and stash an extra duffle in my suitcase just in case I buy too many treasures on my trip. This way, I can stuff the bag with gifts and carry it on with me!

{4} Eye Mask: It's happened to everybody. You are on a plane, or maybe even a train, and the passenger sitting next to you has the light on to read or you are getting blinded by the glare of the in flight movie, both of which make it a little difficult to sleep. An eye mask is great because it blocks out any unwanted light making it easier to rest up before the big adventure. Plus, this one looks like Holly Golightly's in "Breakfast at Tiffany's"!

{5} Kate Spade Passport Cover: Necessary? No. But it does help to preserve the life of your passport if you use it a lot. Plus this one is just incredibly cute!

The Perfect Gift {The Tech Lover}

If you are as technologically challenged as me, finding the perfect gift for the tech lover in your life can be nothing but an uphill battle. I know it is for me! But no worries, this year I'm giving five gifts that are beyond cool, even for someone like me! Here they are...

{1} Pop! Handset: This gold receiver will plug into your phone (it works on any phone, not just a smart phone) or laptop to make talking on your cell or on Skype a little bit more enjoyable!

{2} Apple TV: My personal obsession. It will allow you to wirelessly stream movies, TV shows, music, and pictures from your iTunes to your TV. Not only can stream movies and TV shows from Netflix, you can rent movies and TV shows through iTunes and stream them directly on your TV.

{3} Sony Full HD Camcorder and Projector: This 32 GB will allow you to record videos then immediately project them on to any surface. Pretty sweet!

{4} Grace Audio Victorian Radio: Not as old school as you may think. It is actually a Wi-Fi Internet Radio. It has full built in Pandora Radio capabilities, an iPhone remote app, can hook up to your home stereo system, and so much more!

{5} Telephoto Phone Lenses:  These are 3 lenses that magnetically attach to any phone (not just a smart phone!) to transform your cell phone camera into a professional camera. Three lenses come in the pack and transform your phone lens into Fisheye, Macro, and Wide Angle lenses. Pretty cool if you ask me!
