A Crafted Holiday {Finally!}

All season I've been showing you different holiday crafts. I've made ribbon garland, a striped tree skirt, snow globes, wrapping paper and more. Today I'm excited to share with you the cumulation of all my holiday crafting, my living room decorations. Dreaming of a coastal Christmas, I decided to bring the spirit of the blue seas to Tallahassee. Aqua, navy, and silver were my inspiration this year. The classic coastal color scheme was complimented by handmade touches. I'm so pleased with how my decorations turned out this year that I can't to decorate again next year!

A Crafted Holiday {Lighted Ribbon Garland}

With the realization that I'm not a traditional holiday decorations type, I've decided to go with a non traditional garland this year. The Fraiser Fur type is full and beautiful (and smells amazing!) but it's just not my style. After searching for inspiration to decorate my fireplace, I settled on this bright, crafty option. It's simple to make, colorful, and customizable to your taste and holiday colors. I opted for silver, aqua, and a navy lattice print. Tie around a strand of lights and string across the mantle for the perfect piece of custom garland. Here's the how to...

3 Different Ribbon Colors or Patterns (2 Rolls of each) (Choose ribbons the same width)

:: Directions ::

1. Cut each roll of ribbon into 8 1/4 in. pieces.

2. Arrange in a pattern and tie around the strand of lights.

3. Hang on the mantle and enjoy!

Color Me {White Christmas}

I shared with you last week my plan and inspiration for a blue, blue Christmas. Living in the Sunshine State and being as obsessed as I am with all things coastal, there is one type of Christmas, I'm guaranteed to never get, a white Christmas. There may be white sand beaches but pure white snows are far and few between. While a coastal holiday is my favorite, I've always dreamed of waking up to snow falling and sitting by the fireplace opening gifts. The pure, beautiful scenery fills my head as I anxiously await Christmas morning. If you're like me and enjoy a much greener holiday, here's a little white Christmas inspiration!

Color Me {Blue Christmas}

While contemplating the holiday decor scheme we would be using this year, I had a sudden realization. I'm just not the traditional red and green Christmas decor type. While I enjoy it in other people's homes and while out and about, in my own house I prefer to follow in the word's of the The King (Elvis!) and have a blue Christmas. It reminds me of coastal holidays and fits in perfectly with my everyday decor. I have opted to use shades of sea blue, navy and silver to keep the spirit bright. I'll share images of my holiday decor once it's all complete, but for now I hope you enjoy this board of Christmas's by the sea.
