Happy Monday y'all! Spring has officially sprung (even though the temperatures may not feel like it) and it's time to pack away those lifeless winter colors. I've been dreaming a lot about bright spring shades lately and can't get enough of how happy they make me. I posted last week about vibrant coral but wanted to save my favorite spring shade till the season had officially begun. Even before mint was the color of the year, I was obsessed. It reminds me of the islands and relaxing times. Plus it's just one of those colors that makes me smile just looking at it. And isn't that what spring is all about! 

Color Me {Red with Love}

Happy Valentine's week! Tis the week of love and showing those you care for most how much they mean to you. In the spirit of love, I wanted to fill today's post with shades of it. Adorned with various pinks and reds, this color pallet is not only perfect for the day of love but for the upcoming spring season. These bright shades bring a sense of happiness and a welcoming spirit. So as we raise a glass of champagne to love this week let's also toast to the oncoming spring season and a series of bright posts to come!

The Secret Garden

Happy First Day of Spring! The spirit of the season is already filling the air here with warm temperatures and pollen everywhere. But none of that matters because finally the flowers will begin to bloom and no longer will I be forced to stare at bare, lifeless trees (The one outside my front door is especially ugly during winter months.). With such beauty now returning outside my window, it is taking everything in me not to spend every minute soaking up the sun and I'm sure all of you feel the same. So in honor of our urge to spend more time enjoying the outdoors, let's throw a garden party with no hot tea or cucumber sandwiches required! While pastels and fresh cut blooms are a must, impress your guests with a table set under the trees. Serve up champagne and macaroons, fruity salads and fresh roasted vegetables. Keep everything light and airy, just like the season, to create the ultimate impact. Encourage floral frocks, sandals, and a good time at a wonderful garden soiree to open the party season!

Color Me {Mint}

Happy Monday dolls! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. It's been rather cold here which has left me hoping and wishing for spring time temperatures. And with spring time comes bright colors everywhere. One of my favorites is mint. I love it's beautiful, refreshing combination of blue and green. This shade leaves me longing for an outdoor lunch with friends filled with good food and good laughs. Snacking on caprese salads and french macaroons, the tables would be overflowing with bright eclectic flowers perched atop a patterned mint table cloth. For an added punch, drop a bit of blue and green food coloring into cocktails to freshen up your sips. Better yet, encourage guests to dress in their favorite springy hues to brighten the mood!

Color Me {Lilac}

After two days of blistering cold, by which I mean highs in the mid 50s, my desire for spring time temperatures has been solidified. And, with warmer temperatures, comes brighter colors. Never a fan a purple, lately I've been lusting after lilac. Whether on its own or paired with shades of green or turquoise, lilac is a fresh shade for spring. It ties in beautifully no matter the feel of your soiree. It's a perfect compliment to both a rustic rumble or a glam gathering.

Color Me {Mustard}

Happy Monday! How was everyone's weekend? With a warm front bringing temperatures in the mid 70s all weekend, I was left longing for spring time temperatures and bright colors. Even though it doesn't get very cold here, and when it does it only lasts for a short time, I've been itching to pack away my coats and sweaters for a while now. Every night I'm hoping for an (extremely) early start to spring. With bright buds on the trees, and smiling faces enjoying the sun what's not to love? So, in a spring state of mind, I'm feeling inspired this week by one of my favorite spring time classics, mustard yellow. The special thing about mustard is it's ability to act as both a neutral or a pop of color. Paired with navy blue accents, mustard adds just the right amount of pop to bring the pallet alive. But, when paired with a shade of purple or green, it is able to bring the pallet down a notch so it's not so in your face. Which ever way you wear (or use) it, mustard is a must have for spring!
