Real World Soiree {Rustic Plantation Wedding}

Happy Tuesday friends. I hope everyone survived their Monday. Mine was quite strange and I am hoping for a much better day today. Yesterday I spoke about the lovely wedding I did this past weekend at a wonderful South Georgia Plantation. It was so beautiful that I used it as my inspiration behind yesterday's post. Today I want to share with you a few detail shots from the day. With a pallet of soft sage, silver and gray the flowers were kept simple and natural with lots of peonies, baby's breath and greenery. The ceremony site fit perfect with the color scheme as well taking place under a gorgeous old oak tree. The bride incorporated as many personal touches as possible with a framed carving of the couple's monogram and a table of old family photos. It's details like this that make what I do so fun! I could probably ramble about each dashing detail until the cows come home but instead I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

Topped Off {Cupcake PomPoms}

Cupcakes are cute, but want to know what makes them cuter? A topper. The cupcake trend is taking over and it's time to snaz it up a bit. You can keep the sprinkles and the caramel drizzle, but what's really needed is a topper. Cakes have been topped with everything from candles to bunting and even miniature people. And it's time to bring the topper trend to the cupcake. Right now, I'm loving the idea of topping the little indulgence with homemade flair like these yarn pom poms. The ball of fun is sure to catch stares from across the room. My favorite part? How easy they are to make. In just a few minutes, you've created a fluffy ball of joy. The steps are simple and I'm sharing them with you below. What's your favorite way to top off delectable treats like lemon cupcakes?

:: Supplies ::
Ball of Yarn
Scissors
Mini Skewers
2 Fingers

:: Directions ::
1. Wrap yarn around middle and index finger approximately 30-40 times. Cut yarn and remove from fingers still keeping shape.
2. Cut piece approximately 2 inches in length and tie around center of looped yarn.
3. Take scissors and cut the ends on each side. Trim uneven, long pieces to from perfect sphere.
4. Stake skewer in middle of the pom pom, insert into center of cupcake, step back and admire!

A Little Friday Lovin' {Let's Hang}

I'm a huge fan of hanging things from the ceiling. I don't really care what it is, but my first thought is to always hang it from the ceiling. I know it may seem a little strange, but nothing fills a space more than if there is something hanging from the ceiling. Think about it, if everything you have is the same height on tables that look the same, the room will only have one dimension. Hence why I always want to hang things from the ceiling. Plus, it will make a blah room look more festive. Take for example tomorrow's carnival. The room, which is a very nice room, is a strange shade of blue teal with a darker shade of blue teal boarder on the door frames and floor boards. Just slightly strange. But, since clearly they won't let me paint the room with red and white stripes, I'm hanging red and white pom poms from the ceiling. How do you feel about things hanging from the ceiling?
