Fiesta Time

Happy Friday y'all! Since Friday is naturally a fiesta day, I thought I would share with you my inspiration behind the LPF Mag beach fiesta shoot I have coming up in a few short weekends. While the entire spread will be a series of three different themed beach parties, I want to keep the other two a secret until the issue comes out. For the beach fiesta, I wanted to stick with a traditionally Mexican feel (bright colors, bold patterns, etc.) but have it still be coastal (relaxed, fun, simplistic). The combination of the two seems a bit difficult to combine (loud but simple), but I think I've managed to do just that and can't wait to share the final product with you when the third issue comes out. Until then, I hope this inspiration board I used to plan will make you as anxious for the issue as it has me!

Have a great weekend!

Lusting After {Peonies}

Peonies steal my heart every time. This bright pink bloom is luscious and full of beauty, exactly what every flower should be. Ever since I saw the bud filling a castle garden in Ireland, I've dreamed of it filling my own house. This summer time flower is the perfect soft but bold accent to any soiree. Keep it monochromatic and full for a modern vibe or go with a single stem in a mercury glass bud vase for a vintage feel. With its multitude of shades, I love the idea of combining them in an ombre bouquet. Imagine varying shades of light and dark pink combined to form one masterful centerpiece. Whether it stands on its own or is mixed with complementing accent flowers, the bold and beautiful bloom is considered a must in my book! Now, if I could only find it in my area...

Color Me {Fuschia}

I've finally broken off my blue kick! I know it's taken awhile but I am branching out to a color that has always scared me a little because it is so bold, fuschia. I'm in love with how this color just pops against every surface. Whether it be in a bouquet, on a house, in your food, or on your feet, it illuminates every surface. It's a perfect shade to waken up all your winter blues and bloom into spring. This bold shade is perfect paired with navy, lime, gray, or white. Whatever color you pair it with, gives it a completely different feel. The lime accent will give off a preppy feel with the white let's the color shine all on its own. The navy brings a bit of nautical to the glam shade while the gray gives it a bit of a modern feel. Too scared to use it as the primary color for your soiree? Let is pop as the accent against colors that make you feel more comfortable. Whether as an accent or the show stopper, fuschia is the perfect shade for your spring soiree!
